Unakite, also called unakite jasper, is a metamorphic rock composed mainly of pink feldspar, green epidote, and clear quartz. First discovered in the United States in the Unaka Mountains of North Carolina, this stone is distinguished by its vibrant colors and mottled appearance. Used in jewelry and as a decorative stone, unakite is valued for its unique blend of red and green, giving each specimen a distinct and colorful character. It is formed by the hydrothermal alteration of granitic rocks.
