Black schorl tourmaline

Black tourmaline, also known as schorl, is the most common variety of tourmaline. Black tourmaline is characterized by its intense, almost opaque dark color. It is mainly mined in Africa, Brazil, Pakistan, and Australia. Historically, this mineral was used for its electrical properties in the manufacture of pressure equipment due to its pyroelectricity.
