Chita serpentine

The Serpentine chrysalis presented here is characterized by its varied green color with black and yellow mottling. Serpentine is a group of silicate minerals mainly composed of magnesium and iron, often used in sculpture and ornamental architecture. Found mainly in metamorphic rocks, it is renowned for its ability to resist heat transmission. Historically, serpentine has been quarried since antiquity, and comes from deposits in Italy, the United Kingdom, Africa, and Russia. These stones have been polished to reveal their distinct patterns and colors.
