Rhodochrosite

Rhodochrosite, primarily found in Argentina, is valued for its shades ranging from pale pink to red. It is best known in the form of stalactites and stalagmites in the Capillitas caves in Argentina. Formed by the action of manganese-rich solutions, it is associated with hydrothermal metallic deposits. Discovered in the 13th century, but only significantly used in the 20th century, rhodochrosite is also mined for manganese, essential in metal production.
