Malachite, displaying concentric bands of vibrant greens, is a mineral primarily composed of hydrated copper carbonate. This mineral, known for its beautiful spiral patterns, is often used in jewelry and as an ornamental stone. Historically, malachite was mined in Egypt as early as 4000 BC, mainly for the creation of pigment. The most important malachite deposits are found in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Russia, Zambia, and Australia.
