Chiastolite is a variety of andalusite, known for its cross-shaped carbon inclusions. These unique patterns are the result of impurities that crystallize to form crosses. Chiastolite is often found in metamorphic rock geological contexts and is primarily located in Spain, France, and China. This stone has been discovered and studied since the 18th century, used for both its aesthetic properties and its interesting chemical composition.
