Black tourmaline schorl natural prism

Black tourmaline, also known as schorl, is a variety of tourmaline characterized by its deep black, opaque, and often shiny color. Composed mainly of aluminum and iron borosilicate, it typically forms in metamorphic and magmatic rocks. Particularly abundant, schorl accounts for approximately 95% of tourmalines found in nature.
