Description

Sodalite is a mineral stone primarily characterized by its rich blue color, often mottled with white due to calcite inclusions. Discovered in 1811 in Greenland, this stone was named after its high sodium content. Its popularity grew when it was imported to Europe for use as an ornamental stone and in jewelry making. The most important sodalite deposits are now found in Brazil, Canada, Namibia, and India.
