Raw snowflake obsidian

Speckled Obsidian, also known as Snowflake Obsidian, gets its name from the distinctive patterns of white spots resembling snowflakes, created by inclusions of cristobalite crystals. This form of obsidian is a natural volcanic rock, formed by the rapid cooling of silica-rich lava. This characteristic gives it a vitreous texture and a black base color. Commonly extracted in America, particularly in Mexico and and the United States, it has been used by various cultures for tool making.
