Description

Howlite is a mineral mainly composed of hydrated calcium borosilicate. It was discovered in the 19th century by chemist Henry How in Canada. The distinctive appearance of this mineral often leads to it being confused with other stones like white marble or turquoise, for which it is frequently used as a substitute or imitation after coloring. Howlite deposits are mainly found in California, Nevada, and Canada.
