This angel sculpture carved from black tourmaline, also known as schorl, is the most common variety of tourmaline. Black tourmaline is known for its deep, saturated, almost opaque color. A mineral typically found in granitic and metamorphic formations, it is mainly mined in Africa, Brazil, and Asia. This type of tourmaline was first described in the 18th century in Germany.
