Tiger's Eye

Tiger's Eye is a gemstone belonging to the quartz family. Recognizable by its alternating golden-brown and black bands, this variety is formed by the fibrous growth of crocidolite, replaced by quartz while retaining the original fibrous structure. It is mainly mined in South Africa and Australia. Tiger's Eye was already used for making jewelry and amulets in ancient Egypt. These stones are polished with particular care to bring out their shimmering luminous reflection.
