Description

These fossilized sea urchins are scientifically known as "Echinoids". These fossils have been preserved in rock and date mainly from the Jurassic to the Cretaceous periods, approximately 145 to 66 million years ago. These sea urchins show typical characteristics with their rounded shape and clearly visible radiating patterns, which reflect their ancient star-shaped structure. Originating from the seabed, these fossils were mainly found in regions that are now arid but were once oceans. These pieces offer a fascinating insight into ancient marine fauna and the fossilization process.
