Description

Stichtite, seen here as polished stones, is characterized by its purple to violet color, often marbled with green inclusions due to the presence of serpentine. This combination is typically extracted in Tasmania, particularly in Dundas, where it was first discovered. This mineral, rare in its formation, is mainly composed of chromium and magnesium carbonate. Its name comes from Robert Sticht, a mine manager in the region. Stichtites are valued for their unique color and are often used in jewelry and collections.
