Rutilated quartz

Rutile quartz is a form of clear quartz that contains inclusions of rutile, titanium dioxide crystals that often appear as golden or reddish filaments. These illustrated stones are polished into irregularly round shapes and display shades ranging from transparent to smoky, embedded with these characteristic rutile filaments. Historically, rutile quartz was first discovered in crystalline form in the Swiss Alps in the 18th century. Quartz with rutile inclusions is commonly mined in regions like Brazil.
