Strawberry quartz

Strawberry quartz, shown here as tumbled stones, is a variety of quartz characterized by its pink to red color due to goethite or lepidocrocite inclusions. This stone is mainly found in South Africa and Mexico. It was discovered relatively recently, making it a more modern addition to mineral collections. Strawberry quartz is often used in jewelry for its particular aesthetic and its relative rarity on the gemstone market.
