Emerald

Emerald is a variety of beryl, renowned for its green color due to traces of chromium and sometimes vanadium. The most significant emerald deposits are found in Colombia, but they are also found in Brazil, Zambia, and other countries. Used since antiquity, emerald was a prized gem in many civilizations, particularly among the Egyptians and Mesopotamians.
