Frosted amethyst

Frosted Amethyst, presented here in polished stone form, is a quartz variant whose violet hue is due to iron impurities. Highly prized in antiquity, it was used to adorn the crowns and jewels of nobles. These amethysts have a matte and translucent appearance, their soft lilac color bringing a naturally soothing touch. Amethyst is primarily mined in South America and Africa. This 'frosted' finish is obtained by a surface treatment that preserves the natural color while giving it a softer and more uniform appearance with a polished face.
