Chevron Amethyst, also known as Banded Amethyst, is a variety of quartz characterized by its alternating light to dark purple and white bands. This distinct structuring is the result of the crystal's layered growth with inclusions of quartz and other minerals at different times during its formation. Chevron Amethyst is mainly mined in South Africa, Brazil, Uruguay, Russia, and India. It has been used and admired since antiquity for its vibrant and attractive colors.
