Banded natural grey agate

Natural gray banded agate is a variety of chalcedony characterized by its concentric or banded patterns. These colors and patterns are the result of rhythmic silica deposits in volcanic rock cavities. Agate has been known since ancient times, used for both its ornamental properties and for the creation of art objects. Its main deposits are found in Germany, Uruguay, Brazil, and the United States.
