Crystallized Stilbite

Stilbite belongs to the zeolite family, a group of hydrous calcium and aluminum silicate minerals. The specimens shown in the image display a characteristic soft peach color, typical of stilbite, which can range from white to pink to orange. These minerals are known for their pearly luster and their crystalline formations, often in lamellar aggregates or radiating sprays. Stilbite is primarily mined in India, Iceland, and the United States. It was discovered in the 18th century, and its name comes from the Greek word "stilbein," meaning "to glitter," in reference to its luminous shine.
