Raw serpentine Peru

Serpentine, shown here in its raw state, is a mineral primarily composed of magnesium silicates. This piece, originating from Peru, displays a characteristic green color mottled with black. Serpentine is often mined for its use in sculpture and as an ornamental stone, due to its ease of carving.
