Cerussite is a mineral composed of lead carbonate, often formed from the alteration of lead ores. This stone is distinguished by its high density and adamantine to silky luster. It can present as needle-like or tabular crystals. Historically, cerussite has been known since antiquity and was used for lead extraction. Major deposits are found in Morocco, Australia, Namibia, Europe, and the United States.
